Girls basketball team cuts down nets after win over Strongsville

The North Royalton girls basketball team captured its first Northeast Ohio Conference River Division title Feb. 4 with its win over Strongsville.
The host Bears defeated the Mustangs 56-41. The clinched North Royalton’s first conference title since 2006 and fifth in school history.
The other four came in the now-defunct Pioneer Conference.
The victory upped the Bears’ record to 16-2, 7-0 with four games to go on the regular season schedule.
Abby Miduri, Julianne Lebo and Alison Smolinski led the Bears’ scoring efforts. Miduri finished with a game-high 16 points. Lebo and Smolinski chipped in 13 and 11, respectively.
