Multiple Teams · NR Athletes to “Stuff the Bus” for Coats for Kids on November 18th

The North Royalton High School football players will coordinate the Eighth Annual Coats for Kids/Stuff the Bus collection event on Saturday, November 18th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  The community is asked to bring gently used coats and cash donations to the North Royalton Board of Education parking lot, 6579 Royalton Road, where the players will “stuff” a North Royalton school bus with the donations.  This event benefits the children of Northeast Ohio and is a way for the North Royalton school community to give back to those in need.

Stuff the Bus will be a “drive and drop” operation, so coat and cash donors need not even leave their vehicle to make a donation.

Donations of new or like-new winter coats in all sizes (including adult sizes) are appreciated.  The coats that are donated as Stuff the Bus will be redistributed to Northeast Ohio children and adults through various social service agencies.

“Coats for Kids is indebted to the North Royalton football team and their families for their many years of dedicated support,” said Debbie Martinko, Coats for Kids executive director.  “Stuff the Bus team endured miserable weather at last year’s event, but they still had a highly successful event.  They raised close to $2,600 and collected several hundred coats.”

Several local sponsors have offered to be food sponsors for the 2017 event.  Zeppe’s Pizza in North Royalton will deliver sheet pizzas for volunteers on Saturday afternoon.  Becker’s Donuts, also in North Royalton, will provide donuts.  Michael Angelo’s Bakery in Broadview Heights has offered cupcakes for the event.

Financial donations for the Coats for Kids have been committed by Angie’s Salon, Baumann Recycling, Kurak’s Tire Center and McDonald Hopkins LLC.

The City of North Royalton is also helping to publicize the event
