On February 1st we had our Senior Night honoring Captain Kaleigh Napier and 1st year team member Julie Knapik at BBHHS.
Kaleigh nailed the 3 events she competed: bars, beam, and vault. Her veteran status shown bright and she made us all very proud. Julie competed in the all-around. What was amazing about Julie is that she started gymnastics a few months ago and yet was able to compete all four events! Not only that, but she has learned some very difficult skills in a short amount of time. We couldn’t have been happier for our two seniors!!
Brecksville came in 1st, we came in 2nd with a 134.725 and Padua came in 3rd. Freshman Mya Costello put up her personal best all-around of 35.95, as well as her personal best beam (9.15) and floor (9.05). She placed 2nd on vault, 3rd on bars and floor, 1st on beam, and 2nd all-around. Freshman Hannah Haffner was 5th on vault, 4th on beam and floor and 5th all-around. Sophomore Avery Keller placed 3rd on vault, 10th on bars, 7th on floor and 6th in the all-around.
Showing huge improvement was freshman Emily Shuck who placed 9th on bars and 8th in the all-around. She put up personal bests on bars and floor!
Freshman Julia Falcioni placed 10th on vault and 9th in the all-around. She also put up her personal best on bars!
Sophomore Peyton Schrader also helped contribute to the team score with solid vault and bars performances.
Our next meet is the Suburban League Conference on Saturday 2/10 at 2:20pm at BBHHS.
