Girls Varsity Gymnastics · Girls Varsity Gymnastics Team Moves On To Districts With 2nd Place Finish


On Sunday, February 18th, the Girls Varsity Gymnastics Team came in 2nd place at the OHSAA Sectionals. Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School (143.5 pts), North Royalton High School (137.825 pts), Stow High School (133.55 pts ) and Strongsville High School (133.125 pts) are all moving on to Districts next Saturday, February 24th at West Geauga High School.

Freshman Mya Costello and Sophomore Avery Keller are also moving on as individuals.  Mya qualified on all four events and in the all-around.  Avery qualified on vault, bars, floor and all-around. S he narrowly missed making beam (along with teammate Hannah Haffner). The top 12 on each event move forward; Avery and Hannah tied for 13th place.

Mya took 4th on vault, 6th on bars, 2nd on beam, 11th on floor and 5th all-around with a personal best of 36.225. Avery took 7th on vault with a personal best of 9.2, 3rd on bars with a personal best of 9.275, 12th on floor and 8th all-around with a personal best of 35.8.

Hannah also put up a personal best of 8.4 on bars and found herself in a three-way tie for 13th!
