Bears News · Important Parent Updates Regarding Closure of School

March 13, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As our staff continues to prepare for schools being closed until at least April 3, we realize that it was difficult for some parents to get to school today to get materials and items that students may need. In addition, as staff prepare activities, there may be additional materials they would ask to be picked up if at all possible. To that end, all of the North Royalton City Schools’ buildings will be open on Monday, March 16 for these materials to be picked up. North Royalton High School and North Royalton Middle School will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and the three elementary schools will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

We also realize that students in our District that rely on the free and reduced lunch program may be facing hardship with schools being closed. We are working on a process that will provide a bagged lunch for pick up beginning Wednesday, March 18. We will communicate more information to you on Monday.

One question that we have been receiving is regarding our scheduled spring break from April 10 through April 17. At this time, we are not planning to change our spring break unless we are mandated to alter our plans by the State of Ohio or Department of Education.

I will continue to communicate updates and changes to you as they occur. Thank you for your patience as we work together. Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Greg Gurka
Superintendent
North Royalton City Schools
