On Tuesday, October 15th, the Boys 7th Grade Football Team traveled to take on Copley-Fairlawn Middle School in their last game of the season. The Bears dominated and won 24 to 6.
The Bears offense moved right down the field and scored on their opening drive. They were able to handle the Indians up front running the ball anywhere they wanted. Scoring for the Bears were Connor Rothschiller with 2 touchdown runs – one for 62 yards and one for 18 yards as well as a two point conversion run, Logan Straight also had 2 touchdown runs – one for 28 yards and one for 34 yards, and both Henry Schuld and Nick Safranek scored a two point conversion pass thrown by Ben Baracz and Grady Baugh.
The Bears defense played like a Grizzly attacking a salmon on a hungry day. They feasted on the Copley offense by giving up only 68 yards of total offense and causing a bunch of turnovers, knocking down passes, sacks and tackles for a loss. Mannix Wasco had the games only interception. Zach Shroka caused 2 fumbles. AJ Mayer caused a fumble. Victor Sidari recovered a fumble.
The 7th Grade Football team finished the season with a record of 4 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie. It was a great way to end a winning season. Great job Bears and great season!!!
The Bears would like to thank everyone who came out to support them throughout the season. And they would like to give a special thanks to the team’s water girls who helped them out tremendously during the games. Thank you Kaylee Stanzak, Marcilla Stilla and Mya Ortiz!!!
