On Saturday, April 13th, the Boys Varsity Baseball Team traveled to take on Brunswick High School for a doubleheader. In game two, the Bears defeated Brunswick 5 to 2.

In the second inning, the Bears got their offense started when Joey Marousek singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Brunswick tied the game with 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Bears pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. Brandon Bielak drew a walk, scoring one run and Mitch Hoffman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Gavin Jones took the win for the Bears. He went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five. Tommy Layhew threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Layhew recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

Jacob Frey, Tanner Price, Marousek, Hoffman, Tim Baird, and Bielak each collected one hit to lead the Bears offense.

The Boys Varsity Baseball Team record is now at 6 wins and 7 losses. Come cheer them on as they travel to take on Stow-Munroe Falls High School on Tuesday, April 16th at 4:30 PM. GO BEARS!!
