Girls Varsity Gymnastics · Girls Varsity Gymnastics Team Finishes in 2nd Place at OHSAA Sectionals & Advances to OHSAA Districts

On Saturday, February 15th, the Girls Varsity Gymnastics Team participated in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament at West Geauga High School. The Lady Bears were Sectional runner-ups and are advancing to the District Tournament on Saturday, February 22nd back at West Geauga High School. Congratulations!

The top 10 teams were as follow:

Senior Avery Keller is also advancing as an individual on vault, bars, beam, floor and in the all-around (she took 4th place overall at Sectionals).

Junior Mya Costello is advancing as an individual on the balance beam.

Joining them is Junior Hannah Haffner, who is advancing on vault, beam, floor and in the all-around. Hannah took 3rd place out of 104 competitors on the balance beam.

In addition, Sophomore Molly Benefiel is the vault alternate for Districts. Molly hadn’t competed her yurchenko vault since Sectionals last year, due to a torn groin. She has battled back and delivered outstanding performances for the team.

Junior Julia Falcioni is also an alternate for the balance beam after delivering a solid, confident routine.

Avery Keller, Peyton Schrader and Bella Zimmerman were acknowledged as 4-year Seniors. In addition, Seniors Peyton Schrader and Nikki Kuchta were named Academic All-Ohio. This award was presented to seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher.
