On Tuesday, October 21st, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team hosted Elyria High School in the OHSAA Soccer Playoffs. The Bears easily won against Elyria 11 to 1.

The Bears offense exploded in the first half and scored 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the game. Riley Barrett scored first with an assist from Riley Miller. Lauren Kotlyn scored the second goal. Riley Miller scored the third goal with an assist from Stephanie Schroeder.

The Bears would score four more goals in the first half. Goals were scored by Riley Barrett her second of the game, Laci Buffa (assist from Claire Casey), Sarah Ellis (assist from Laci Buffa) and Elana Scocus (assist from Avery Kane). Elyria would finally score with 8:23 left in the first half with a goal from a corner kick. The Bears led 7 to 1 at halftime.

In the second half, the Bears would work on passing and one touches. The Bears would score four more goals in the second half. Goals were scored by Riley Miller her second of the game, Stephanie Schroeder (assist from Brianna Knull), Elana Scocus her second of the game and Lindsay Kurak (assist from Angela Carozza). The Bears would win 11 to 1.

The Girls Varsity Soccer Team record is now at 9 wins, 3 losses and 4 ties. The Bears will now wait for the winner of the Brunswick/Wooster match on Thursday, October 22nd. If Brunswick wins, the Bears will travel to Brunswick on Monday, October 26th at 6:00 PM. If Wooster wins, the Bears will host Wooster on Monday, October 26th at 6:00 PM. This will be the District Semifinal for the OHSAA Playoffs. GO BEARS!!
