On Saturday afternoon May 1st before a big crowd on Senior Day, the Bears swept a double header against Hathaway Brown 19-0 and 18-0. This was their 3rd Saturday Double Header sweep of the season.

In game one, Senior Pitcher Jillian Baracz threw a perfect game against the Blazers winning 19-0. She struck out 12 and walked none in the game to earn the win and the perfect game.

In game 2, an 18-0 win, Senior Pitcher Paige Heffke threw the complete game shutout, and accomplished the rare feat of recording every out via strikeout. She struck out 15 hitters in the 5 inning game. Her final stat line was 15K’s, zero walks, 1 hit (an infield hit) and 1 HBP.

In game 1 the Bears pounded out 19 hits led by Liz Whites 4 for 4 effort with 4 runs scored. Emma Kelley had 3 hits and 3 RBI. Mia Maddamma had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, 3 RBI and her 5th home run on the season. Also adding 2 hits were Jillian Baracz, Julya Dillon, Peyton Maciak and Shannon O’Malley.

In game 2, the Bears tallied 13 hits. Liz White had 3 more hits with 4 runs scored and an RBI. Paige Heffke had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Jillian Baracz added a pair of hits including a HR (her 6th of the season) with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Mia Maddamma added her 6th HR of the year as well in the game. This one a grand slam in the 2nd inning.

With the 2 wins, the Bears improve their record to 17-4 with a 7-3 Conference record. They begin a busy week of conference play next week with Brecksville, Nordonia, and Stow on the schedule starting with a Monday home matchup with Brecksville. GO BEARS!!
